Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in DBT research project entitled "Transcript profiling of salt and drought stress in foxtail millet (Sataria italica L) and cloning characterization of DREB2 homologue" and Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in NIPGR "Short-Term Research Fellowships" scheme under the guidance of Dr. Manaoj Prasad, Scientist, NIPGR.

(A) Junior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per project sanction.

Candidate having M. Sc. degree (with minimum 60% and preferably one year of post- M.Sc research experience on related subject in an R&D lab.) in any discipline of Life Sciences. Expertise in molecular marker techniques along with basic knowledge of molecular biology background will be preferred.

(B) Senior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms.

Candidates having M. Sc. degree (with minimum 60%) in any subject area of life sciences with two years of Post M. Sc. Research experience. Experience of working with plant virus, molecular biology and genomics with international publications is highly desirable.

The position is completely on temporary basis with maximum duration of three years.

The initial appointment will be for one year for SRF and upto November 2011 for JRF, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR may select candidate against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate and reserves the right to relax any of the qualification(s) in case the candidate is found otherwise well qualified by the Selection Committee. Reservation of post shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
