Project - Inventorisation and Monitoring of Biosphere Reserves in India using RS & GIS technology funded by Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India.

Desirable:
 Candidates qualifying NET JRF/SLET/DBT JRF/GATE or M Phil and
 Candidates with experience in handling animal (mice), trained in histopathology, proficient in statistical analysis and with genetics would be preferred at the most.
 
Salary: As per DBT norms.

Dr. Pongubala’s laboratory is investigating the molecular pathways that control the development of innate and adaptive immune cell types utilizing a combination of genetic, molecular and computational approaches. Responsibility of the research specialist is to take care of daily needs of the laboratory where as the project-JRF candidate is expected to study the functional role of recently identified novel miRNAs during B cell fate commitment.

Applicants for project-JRF should have a M.Sc. or Integrated Masters (I.M.Sc.) in Biological Sciences with a strong background in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from a reputed University. Candidates must have secured aggregate marks greater than 60% or a 7.0 CGPA. Candidates with JRF-fellowship through CSIR/UGC will have an option to enroll into Ph.D. program. Applicants for the position of research specialist should have a B.Sc or M.Sc. in Life Sciences with laboratory experience. Both positions require good written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment with an aspiration to learn new techniques as well as explore new scientific areas are highly desired.
