The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research. The WII wishes to engage two Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) through a walk-in-interview on Friday, 7^th January 2011. The details of the available position along with essential and desirable qualifications, terms and conditions and how to apply are given below:

Project Title, details of position and duration	Monitoring of re-introduced gaur in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh. (02 – JRFs) Duration: Two years.
Essential Qualification	Masters degree in Wildlife Science/ Environment Management/Ecology/ Environmental Sciences/Forestry/Zoology with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification	Research experience in radio-telemetry, vegetation quantification and animal census techniques.
Description of Work	The project aims to monitor the re-introduced gaur in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh.

GENERALTERMS & CONDITIONS

1. The age of the candidate shall not be more than 28 years as on 1^st January 2011. Upper age limit for JRF may be relaxed up to 5 years, as in case of candidates  belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically handicapped categories.
2. Selected candidate for the position of Junior Research Fellow will be paid consolidated emoluments of Rs. 12,000/- per month. In case of NET qualified candidates (UGC/CSIR) for Research Fellows, the selected JRF will be paid consolidated emoluments of Rs. 16,000/- per month.
3. Selected candidate may be allowed hostel accommodation at the institute, as per availability. Where the hostel accommodation is not possible, house rent allowance (HRA) will be paid as per the rules of the Institute subject to the condition that HRA payable, in no case, shall be more than the rates payable to Central Govt./WII Employee(s) in that area. Other allowances and benefits to the research personnel would be admissible as per the rules of the Institute, amended from time to time.
4. The selection of the candidate will be based on Walk-in-Interview to be held on Friday, 7^th January 2011 at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun. The registration will begin by 09:30 A.M. onwards.

6. Recruitment to one post of Scientist `H’ in the Department of Biotechnology on deputation basis.

The Department of Biotechnology urgently requires services of suitable officers for filling up of one post of Scientist `H’, a senior Group `A’ Gazetted post in the HAG scale of `67,000-79000/-, on deputation basis. The eligibility conditions for the post are as under:-

Officers of the Central Government, State Government, Universities, Public Sector Undertakings and Government Funded Research Organization or Institutions:

(a)    Holding analogous post on regular basis

Or

Having at least five years’ regular service in the immediate lower post i.e. posts in PB-4 the scale of `37,400-67,000/- plus grade pay of `10,000/-

and

(b)    Qualification & Experience:

(i) Essential: - Possessing Ph.D degree in Life Sciences from  a recognized University.  

(ii) Minimum 20 years’ experience in responsible positions of work in R&D/Management & Administration/Planning/Industrial/Academic Institutions and/or Science & Technology Organizations with a broad perspective of the potential of Biotechnology.

2.       The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/Department of the Central Govt. shall ordinarily be three years which may be extended further with the approval of the competent authority.  The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

3.       The pay of the officer selected to the post/will be regulated in accordance with the Department of Personnel & Training’s O.M. N o.6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay.II) dated 17th June 2010, as amended from time to time.
