Applications are invited from Indian Citizens for one post of Junior Research Fellow in the CSIR sponsored project entitled “Studies on the protective role of an antioxidant protein molecule purified from the herb, phyllanthus niruri : Signal transduction mechanism in organ pathophysiology” under  Prof. P.C. Sil, Division of Molecular Medicine. The project is tenable for three years. Details of qualification, fellowship, age etc.  are as follows.  

Essential Qualification : A good M.Sc. in Life Sciences with NET/GATE qualification. 

Fellowship : Rs. 12,000/- p.m., plus admissible HRA and Medical Benefit. 

Age : Below 28 years (relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN candidates only as  per rule).

Walk in interview
A walk-in interview will be held to select candidates for the following positions in the NFBSRA-sub-project on "Phenomics of moisture deficit and low temperature  stress tolerance in rice" (Duration: Till March, 2016; PI- Dr. P. Ananda Kumar, Project Director, NRCPB). Post: Research Associate(One Post)  
Fellowship per Month: Rs. 24000 +30% HRA for Ph.D.  or Rs. 23000 +30% HRA for M.Sc. 
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology /Genetics / Plant Physiology or any branch of life Sciences with research experience in gene isolation, genetic transformation and characterization of transgenics  or M.Sc. in any of the above subjects with at least two years of post M.Sc. research experience in areas mentioned above.

Fellowship per Month: Rs. 16000 +30% HRA 
Qualifications: M.Sc. in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Genetics/ Bioinformatics/Plant Physiology or any branch of Life Sciences with relevant research experience.

Post: Senior Research Fellow (One Post) 
Fellowship per Month: Rs. 16000 +30% HRA 
Qualifications: M.Sc. in  Plant Breeding/ Genetics/Plant Physiology/ Agronomy/ Horticulture or any branch of Life Sciences desirably having experience in green house maintenance and handling of large pot culture experiments.

  1. The above posts are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis for an initial period of one year, which may be extended on yearly basis after satisfactory performance of the incumbent till termination of the scheme. There is no provision of re-engagement after termination of scheme. The selected candidate shall not claim for regular appointment at this institute as the fellowship is coterminus with respective scheme. 
  2. Age limit: 40 years for RA and Engineers, 35 years for SRF and 30 years for Office Assistant. Age relaxation of 5 years to SC/ST & women candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates will be given. 
  3. TA/DA: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Pennington Biomedical Research Center ( Louisiana State University System), Postdoctoral Position in Adipose-Immune Interactions


The Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a research facility of Louisiana State University System, is seeking a qualified person to work as a postdoctoral researcher in the Laboratory of Neuroendocrine-Immunology (PI: Dr. Vishwa Deep Dixit) in the brand new state-of-the-art Basic Science Building. 

This is a NIH funded laboratory with interest in the mechanism of adipose-immune interactions in aging and obesity. The primary focus of this research position is to lead and develop existing projects to understand the origin of inflammation in obesity. 

This Laboratory utilizes latest cellular and molecular tools, genetic manipulations including reporter and Cre/Lox mouse models to understand the interplay between metabolic-immune systems. In addition, this position also offers opportunity to conduct clinical studies that focus on the impact of caloric restriction and caloric excess on immune function.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidate will have a minimum of a Ph.D degree with less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience. Salary support will be according to the NIH pay recommendations. Highly motivated candidates with strong background in immunology, cell and molecular biology are encouraged to apply.

We are seeking to appoint a cellular scientist with a strong track record of research excellence in immunology. The focus of our work is the characterization of cellular and molecular bases of autoimmunity in Primary Immunodeficiencies. The project entails the handling of human patient material and experimental animal work.
The candidates must have a PhD degree and have experience in relevant techniques (animal handling, molecular biology, cell cultures, flow cytometry). Motivation, adaptability and proven ability to work independently will be greatly valued. A 3-year stipend will depend on experience of the candidate.
