The subject of training is exactly based on the 

CSIR syllabus.  This workshop programme is schedule to take place from 

27th December 2010 to 16th January 2011 each day of 5 hours training.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Requirements: Ph.D/Master’s degree with not less than 7 years of relevant laboratory experience. Laboratory experience must include cell culture techniques, bioassay methods, molecular biology and immunological techniques including cell staining, ELISA , PCR fluorescent based such as cell staining, flow cytometric analysis. Must have experience in the qualification / validation of bioassays and immunoassays. The candidate should also be able to perform protein analysis methods such as concentration determination (colorimetric and fluorescent based) and gel based analysis (PAGE, IEF). Working knowledge of common analytical methods and procedures, and experience in calibrating and operating analytical instruments, such as spectrophotometers, microtiter plate readers, pipettes and centrifuges required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Experience in nucleic acid analysis such as gene cloning and vector construction is highly desirable. Experience in an IAO/cGMP environment is desirable. Good understanding of chromatographic analyses, as well as other general analytical chemistry principles. The candidate must take personal responsibility to ensure work is delivered on time and is the highest possible quality. Ability to anticipate, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems. Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Experience working in biotechnology industry strongly preferred.

Job Description

Function of the Position: This is a hands-on as well as supervisory position in USP-India’s Bioanalytical & Microbiology Laboratory. In this role, the scientist delivers sustained contributions that result in innovative product and process technologies for USP. The Scientist will contribute to the scientific expertise and work ethic of the laboratory through a broad range of technical knowledge. A senior Scientist has mastered many common techniques with the laboratory and is able to contribute their own observations and input complex to difficult projects. The Scientist may execute 60% -90% of their work at the bench level depending on the size of the group.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Assists Director in planning, implementing and evaluating laboratory procedures/systems on assigned projects.

• Demonstrates strong skill and expertise in laboratory methods in the areas of bioassays, molecular biology and immuno assays.

• Reviews, and evaluates scientific literature in appropriate areas of biopharmaceutical analysis..

• Writes project testing plans and protocols.

• Writes project reports and reviews reports generated by the staff.

Duties: Perform routine system administration tasks such as OS installation,  patching, backups, upgrades and system restarts for large HPC clusters, Servers & other graphics etc. facilities. Perform routine hardware and software installation as needed. Duty also includes hardware and software troubleshooting to make the clusters / Servers run continuously. This position may require  flexible support and response to emergency situations to resolve problems. Systems Include :

1. All servers, clusters at the Schools.
