Punjab University JRF Post Botany / Zoology / Environment in MoEF Project

Applications on plain paper are invited for the following temporary positions in MoEF sponsored 3 year research project entitled “Impact of Cell-phone technology on Biotic Component of Urban Ecosystem” by the Prof R. K. Kohli, PI and co-investigators Prof Daizy Batish (Botany), Dr H.P.Singh (Environment) and Dr Upma Bagai (Zoology)

1. Junior Research Fellow: one @ Rs 12,000–12,000–14,000 (for I, II and III year)+15% HRA
2. Technical Staff (helper): one @ Rs 4000/= pm fixed

Eligibility conditions:
Junior Research Fellow (JRF): M.Sc. 1st class and all conditions prescribed for JRF by the DST i.e. CSIR-NET / SLET /PU Ph.D. Entrance test qualified in life sciences (Botany, Zoology) or Environment Science. The candidate must know the use of computer / internet and basic biostatistics. Candidate can pursue Ph.D. degree 
Helper: Minimum qualification: 10th class with science as one of the subjects

Job requirements:
Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
  • To organize & conduct experiments as guided on plants & animals in lab. & the fields
  • To maintain data and apply appropriate statistical treatment
  • To maintain lab., equipment, publish papers and attend / present seminars

Technical Helper: To help research team, maintain equipment and perform duties as assigned by the PI

Terms & Conditions:
  • The positions are co-terminus with the completion/termination of the project or even before if the work and conduct is not found satisfactory
  • Since the project is of short duration, for its success the incumbent has to be very hardworking and honest in recording data
  • Since research doesn’t recognize worker’s convenience, the incumbent might have to sometimes work late for giving treatments and recording data.
