Applications in the prescribed form in EIGHT COPIES are invited from the eligible candidates for the posts of Associate Professor in the following departments.

Genetics- 1 Post

Eligibility Conditions:

Qualifications :

i. Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned disciplines.

ii. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).

iii. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic / research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution / industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research / policy papers.

iv. A relaxation of 5% will be provided at the Master’s level for the SC / ST/Differently Abled   

v.  A relaxation of 5%,  from 55% to 50% of the marks will be provided  to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have passed their Master’s Degree prior to 19^th September 1991.

Essential Qualification:

i. Master’s Degree in Biology / Genetics with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.

ii. Ph.D. Degree in Biology / Genetics disciplines

iii. A minimum of 8 years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic / research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor with evidence of published work and minimum of 5 publications as books and / or research / policy papers.

iv. Research specialization in Cancer Genomics / Cancer Genetics

Applications should be accompanied by a Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of the "Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai" payable at Madurai towards the cost of application and registration fee. However, SC/ST candidates have to submit a Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- towards registration fee only. The envelope containing the filled in application superscribed on the left hand corner as “Application for the post of Associate Professor in……………………..” should be sent to “The Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University, Palkalai Nagar, Madurai 625 021, Tamil Nadu, India" either by Registered Post or in person, so as to be received in his office on or before 30-09-2010 upto 5.45 p.m.  Applications received after the last date will not be considered.
