WALK-IN INTERVIEW

A walk-in interview would be held for eight posts of Research Fellows for the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), United Kingdom funded collaborative research projects on

1. “Remote integrated systems for controlling nematodes using emerging technology for both resource – poor and commercial farmers” (RISC-NET)

2. “Anticoccidial vaccine development : The importance of genetic diversity and delivery strategy” and

3. “Developing a validation portfolio to exploit key virulence proteins in Fasciola species for parasite control” at the Department of Veterinary Parasitology / Animal Biotechnology, Madras Veterinary College, Chennai-600 007 and Leptospirosis Research Laboratory, Centre for Animal Health Studies, Madhavaram, Chennai – 600 051 for 3 years. The post is purely temporary and need based and they should not claim regular employment at a later date.

1. Research Associate- 2 Posts

Salary: Rs.22,000/- per month + eligible HRA

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Veterinary Science / Life Sciences or other related disciplines

(or)

M.V.Sc. / M.Pharm / M.E., M.Tech in Biotechnology / Life Sciences or other related disciplines with three years of teaching / research experience in the related area

2. Senior Research Fellow- 6 Posts

Salary: Rs.18,000/- per month + eligible HRA

Qualifications: M.V.Sc. in Animal Health subjects / Animal Biotechnology or other related disciplines

Salary: Rs.12,000/- per month + eligible HRA

Qualifications: M.Sc. in Life Sciences or other related disciplines

Candidates with OGPA of 3.50 / 4.00 or 8.00 / 10.00 or First Class or equivalent grade / marks are preferred.

Filled in application in the prescribed format should be brought along with relevant original certificates and photo identity to the Department of Veterinary Parasitology, Madras Veterinary College, Vepery, Chennai – 600 007 on the day of walk-in interview i.e. on 01.10.2010 at 10.00 A.M. A one hour objective type of written test followed by interview would be held on the same day. The applicants already working should bring the No Objection Certificate from their current employer on the day of walk-in interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending interview.
